What we know about this house (as of April 1, 2021):
1958: house built. Current window over driveway is where the kitchen sink was. The West kitchen wall was about 6' in from where it is now. The dining room was where our TV room is. What we have as a dining room space may have been a patio or "3 seasons" screened porch. The house had 1.5 baths in the same locations where the main floor bathrooms are today. The back door was at the top of the basement stairs. The (then) dining room and the half-baths had windows looking onto the backyard.
1960-63 (not long after it was first built): the southwest bedroom was expanded into the backyard to make a mother-in-law's suite.
1987: The patio was "enclosed" and became another heated/cooled interior room... our dining room.
1999 June: Kaczor-Church family buys the home. Isaac is 8 months old, Noah is 6.
2000 July: Carpet is removed from the living room and hardwood installed while we take a 2 week vacation to the UK.
2001 July: Carpet is replaced with laminate "tile" in what is our dining room (was originally a porch). This is done after we have all departed for Germany and the renters have not yet moved in. Thus we never see the 1950's era brown, 9"x9" tile -- red flags for asbestos. (More on that later!)
2004: John installs two egress windows in the basement. One for the guest bedroom and one for Noah's bedroom (at the time). Naomi was born the day of the window well excavation. Old basement bathroom demolished.
2004-2008: John re-building the bedrooms and bathroom in the basement, then the play room and pantry.
2008: Some finishing of the bathroom in the basement (before the Plasmann family visited.)
2009?: Enclosed the ceiling in the basement playroom. Full house insulation. 19" cellulose in attic, foam injected into exterior walls.
2014: John (and kids) paint and remodel the TV room.
2015: John re-decorates / re-builds the basement bedroom in to Ruth Ann's office. Builds bike shed/ wood storage. Rebuilt back porch with new framing, windows, doors.
2017: John paints, re-decorates the full size bathroom in the main floor. Conversion from overhead to underground eletric suppl. (DTE buries the wire).
2019 - 2020: John replaced windows in full size bathroom, southeast bedroom (Naomi's room) and master bedroom.
