Brick demolition - with full protective gear

 

John rented a demolition hammer from A1 Rental in Ann Arbor for the day. He got started at about 9:30. He chiseled. Ruth Ann chiseled. He chiseled hours more! 

That power tool was heavy - at least 12-15 pounds! The bricks and mortar were even heavier! We had to create a dump pile by the driveway; dumpster arrives next week.

Finally at 3:45, John finished the last bit. He got it back to the rental place just before the 4pm deadline!

Today was the day to finalize the window and door order as well. After a visit to Bolyard Lumber, John made a few tweaks to the order and confirmed the 5 windows and patio door. Still need to order one more door for the entry to the mud room. Haven't quite figured out the design we want yet.

One of the neighbor kids came over to give demolition work a try!
