We have gotten comfortable with this flooring choice -- for now! 12"x24" Newport Metallic for the slate-look in the back entryway and 15" x 30" Chateaux Beige for the dining room and kitchen - porcelain tile.
We went back and forth with some of the samples brought back from the store.
This is the tile layout (drawn by Laura) that suits us best - except later we decided to NOT put tile under the cabinets, so this will have to be re-drawn. First JCJ, then Ervin Byler, our cabinet maker, recommended avoiding the hassles that can come with putting large tile on an older, uneven floor. The unevenness is easier to manage with the tile being outside the cabinet toe-kicks.
